Hiking Holidays In France: The Village Of Saint Cirq Lapopie
Holidays just started a week ago in France. French people just love hiking holidays. We are lucky to live in a great country, that offers a wide landscape diversity which brings new horizons just at our doorsteps. Today I wanted to introduce a beautiful French village, inspiring place you could cross along the French Way to Santiago de Compostella: Saint Cirq Lapopie. I’m going there once a year and still enjoy the atmosphere and beauty as the 1st time.
Saint Cirq is located in the South Ouest of France, in the région Midi-Pyrenée, hometown of rugby, foie gras… and much more traditional food and meridonal lifestyle. The village is perched on a cliff above the Lot, which gives a stunning view over the valley du Lot. In France, some call it “la perle du Lot” (The gem of the Lot river).
More than words, check out this trailer that depicts well the village and it’s atmosphere:
Have you ever been to Saint Cirq? How was it? In your country, where is your “gem” or great hiking holiday spot? Thanks for sharing and tell us if you would like to go there by voting on top of this post.
We also found these orther resources. Enjoy!
